AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – In Aiken, families from across the area took advantage of a rare snow day. Even after the snow ended, winter weather left some headaches—slick roads, an icy bridge, and crews clearing fallen trees.
Some drove in from Augusta and nearby communities after seeing snow on social media. Kids ran, laughed, and made snow angels and snowballs. Many say it’s a moment that only comes around once in a while.
“I live like five minutes from here. There’s nothing out there. I mean my car was frosted over but there’s no snow. And then I saw a Facebook post showing Aiken looking like this. I drive a minute up the road, go past Circle K and it’s just like, I don’t know, a quarter inch of snow and just surprise me. It’s kind of odd where it’s snowing and where it’s not,” said Reese Raber…
