Buffalo airport limits operations Sunday as winter storm cancels most flights

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — As thousands of flights are canceled nationwide due to a major winter storm, Buffalo Niagara International Airport said operations on Sunday were limited.

Snowfall on the runway began early Sunday morning, but airport crews had already staged the necessary resources well ahead of the storm. Preparation included assembling equipment and materials such as chemicals, salt, sand, and de-icers to ensure safe operations throughout the day.
