The charges stem from a May 9, 2025 incident in which Cliffside Park police responded around 8:50 p.m. to a report of an armed burglary in progress at a residence on Columbia Avenue, Cliffside Park, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. When officers arrived, the suspects had already fled the scene, according to prosecutors.
Surveillance cameras in and around the home showed three masked suspects inside the residence, two of whom appeared to be brandishing firearms, investigators said. A preliminary investigation determined the suspects stole high-end purses before fleeing the scene in a black Kia Sorento, authorities said.
Following a months-long investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad and the Cliffside Park Police Department, detectives identified 24-year-old Deterrieynn T.
