CHARLESTON , S.C. (WCIV) — Protesters gathered in downtown Charleston to voice their anger and demand change after a federal officer shot and killed a person in Minneapolis Saturday. The event, organized by 19 different groups, drew a large crowd who listened to speeches and waved signs at Brittlebank Park.
Belvin Olasov, director of the Charleston Climate Coalition, noted the energy and new faces at the rally.
“I’m seeing a bunch of new faces and a bunch of really activated people,” he said. “There is a ton of energy brewing in people around the country, but definitely here in Charleston for changemaking.”…
