Local nonprofit AMOR Healing Kitchen is hosting a birthday bash unlike any other: AMOR Fest, a community celebration and fundraiser bringing together Charleston chefs, musicians, artists and families at Freehouse Brewery on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The first-time event marks AMOR’s eighth anniversary and invites the community to gather over homemade chili, live bluegrass, local brews and hands-on art experiences, all in support of AMOR’s mission to deliver nourishing meals to individuals facing serious health challenges in the Lowcountry.
Event Highlights:
- Live music from Flatt City Bluegrass and the Maddie & Rayna Duo
- A Chili Cookoff featuring Charleston chefs: Charlie Layton (Basic Kitchen), Lesley Carroll (Jack of Cups), Tom McFall (Huriyali), and AMOR’s Teen Chefs and more
- Craft beer from Freehouse Brewery
- Live painting by local artist Heather MacQueen Jones
- Family activities, silent auction, and an open bar until 7 p.m.
- A VIP Hour (4–5 p.m.) with early access, curated tastings, and exclusive sponsor experiences.
“AMOR Fest is a celebration of everything we love — food, music, connection, and community,” said Maria Kelly, founder and executive director of AMOR Healing Kitchen. “It’s a way to bring people together and remind each other that nourishment goes beyond meals. As we celebrate eight years, this event helps us continue supporting community members facing some of life’s hardest moments.”
