Comstock Park brewery hosts 5K charity fundraiser

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Next weekend, athletes at Perrin Brewing Company can compete in the annual Frostbite 5K run or walk to benefit Kids’ Food Basket, a West Michigan-based nonprofit.

“It’s a fun, charitable event,” said Alan Riehl, general manager of Perrin Brewing Company.

Starting at 10 a.m. Jan. 31, race participants will leave from Perrin Brewing Company and make a 5K loop before returning back to the brewery for a post-race party.

“We do chili and beer after the event,” Riehl said. “People hang out … and warm up from the run.”

During the party, guests can continue to donate to Kids’ Food Basket by ordering a specialty small-batch beer themed for the event…
