Tennessee leads U.S. in power outages from winter storm

Tennessee leads the nation in power outages amid Winter Storm Fern’s devastation, a system that has crippled electric, transportation and emergency communications infrastructure in Middle Tennessee especially.

The next highest states are Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia, each of which reportedly has 100,000-plus customers without power. Altogether, there are more than 1 million customers across the U.S. to lose power.
