New York, New York – A powerful winter storm continued to snarl travel across the tri-state area Sunday afternoon, with hazardous road conditions expected to persist into the Monday commute as snow transitions to sleet and freezing rain.
According to the National Weather Service in New York, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Monday for southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and parts of southeast New York, including Rockland, Orange, Putnam, and northern Westchester counties. Additional snow and sleet accumulations of 5 to 11 inches are expected before precipitation changes overnight to light freezing rain or freezing drizzle.
