Rochester, New York – A prolonged and intense winter storm continued to hammer western and north-central New York Sunday afternoon, with lake-enhanced snow creating dangerous travel conditions expected to last well into the new week.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect across much of western New York, with some areas under warning through early Tuesday morning. Snowfall totals of 12 to 18 inches are expected in Monroe, Wayne, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties, with the highest amounts focused along the Lake Ontario shoreline and areas southeast of the lake.
