In a tragic turn of events, the suspect killed during a shootout with San Jose police on Wednesday has been identified as 30-year-old Mohamed Husien of Davis, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Husien died following an armed carjacking reported just after 2 p.m. on the 900 block of Capitol Expressway in San Jose, where he allegedly entered a dealership with a firearm and stole a vehicle at gunpoint. A slow-speed pursuit ensued, involving SJPD’s helicopter, AIR 3, and multiple agencies, culminating in a violent confrontation near downtown San Jose at Julian and 87th streets.
