Early Friday morning, a terrifying wrong-way crash on Interstate 94 near downtown Milwaukee resulted in critical injuries and a temporary shutdown of the eastbound lane. A Chevy Malibu, carrying two individuals, merged onto the freeway incorrectly via the Saint Paul Avenue off-ramp and subsequently crashed into a Chevy Equinox.
The violent impact left the sole occupant of the Chevy Equinox in critical condition and both the driver and passenger of the Chevy Malibu with serious injuries, as documented in the WISN coverage. Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office released harrowing body camera footage showing deputies breaking windows and slicing through airbags to extract the wrong-way driver, amidst the wreckage left by the head-on collision.
