PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Later this month, a Southern barbecue connoisseur will start serving smoked meats and soul food eats at one of Portland’s most revered restaurants.
The basement of the James-Beard-Award-winning Haitian restaurant Kann will begin offering “Pitmaster Bryan Furman BBQ” on Friday, Jan. 30. The culinary residency comes from the namesake chef who Bon Appetit named Georgia’s New King of Barbecue in 2018, and became the first pitmaster to be selected as one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in 2019.
