ATLANTA — Atlanta roads avoided much of the worst of possible icing from winter storm conditions that came through the metro region and northeast Georgia, but another, perhaps less expected issue, arose in Midtown.
11Alive’s Savannah Levins was reporting in Midtown Atlanta on Sunday morning, checking things out after the icing event had largely concentrated northeast of the city. While Atlanta saw ice on trees and structures, the roads didn’t really ice over.
It was those structures that proved a bit of a rare issue for Midtown pedestrians. Ice sheets formed on buildings, and once it warmed up, they began crashing to the sidewalk…
