Buffalo tries to stay on top of steady snowfall as road conditions remain slick

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — This latest winter storm is far from the worst Western New York has seen — however, it’s still one that needs to be taken seriously as continuous snowfall presents challenges to crews trying to keep Buffalo’s roads clear.

Hundreds of plows are working overtime to clear city streets and keep up with the winter storm’s prolonged snowfall, something plows are struggling to keep up with tonight as the storm is so encompassing and prolonged that it’s affecting all parts of Western New York.

As our News 4 vehicle entered the I-190 on Sunday afternoon headed south, there was a vehicle that lost control, sliding sideways in the middle of the highway. The driver was able to regain control and there was not a crash. However, those same conditions can be found on a number of city streets, creating challenges for Western New Yorkers who have to walk home from work…
