Winter storm: Law enforcement names worst roads near Fort Campbell due to snow, ice

OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Oak Grove Police Department says road conditions have not improved since extra ice and snow accumulation came through Sunday.

Monday morning around 7:30 a.m., Oak Grove PD said roads remain difficult to navigate as road markings are nearly impossible to see, and shoulders are unavailable. Poor road conditions are reflected in the north end of Christian County as well, with main roadways like KY 800 at I-169 impacted with high piles of packed snow as plows come through Crofton.

Oak Grove PD has disclosed that the following primary routes are most impacted by the winter storm near Fort Campbell.

  • Fort Campbell Boulevard
  • Pembroke Oak Grove Road
  • Hugh Hunter Road
  • Thompsonville Lane

Just yesterday, a semi-truck overturned in Oak Grove while trying to drive down Highway 115. KYTC is continuing snow fighting efforts with plows going through state highways and focused efforts on making the interstate drivable.
