A Weirsdale man driving without a license plate was arrested with drug paraphernalia.
An officer stopped 27-year-old Dalton William Smallwood in a Silver SUV at County Road 48 and Urick Street around 10:25 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. His vehicle had no license plate, which he later claimed was because he never got it back after his car had been repossessed.
When asked for documentation, Smallwood advised that he did not have his driver’s license or registration with him in the vehicle. But a check of his information revealed his license had been suspended indefinitely for financial reasons since Nov. 10, 2025, the report said.
A K-9 was subsequently brought to the scene and positively alerted to the odor of narcotics. A search of the vehicle followed, revealing a plastic bag and a wooden box that both tested positive for methamphetamine, the report said…
