Florida Man Sentenced to Four Years After Attempted Late-Night Taco Bell Robbery in Ocala Using Large Rock

Ocala, Florida — A 40-year-old Ocala man has been sentenced to four years in state prison after authorities say he attempted to rob a Taco Bell restaurant late at night by threatening employees with a large rock, causing workers to flee the building.

According to the case details shared by Florida-based media, the incident occurred when the man allegedly climbed through a Taco Bell drive-thru window and demanded money while holding the rock as a weapon.

Employees Fled Restaurant During Robbery Attempt

Police say the suspect’s actions caused employees inside the restaurant to fear for their safety. Rather than complying with the demands, workers reportedly ran from the building, leaving the restaurant unattended.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Authorities did not release details about how much money, if any, the suspect obtained before fleeing the scene.

Suspect Tracked and Arrested Nearby

After the failed robbery attempt, law enforcement launched a search for the suspect. Police say the man was tracked down nearby and arrested with the assistance of a K-9 unit
