Cold weather shelters to open in Central Florida as next cold blast hits

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Cold weather shelters across Central Florida are opening as the region prepares for an extended cold snap with several mornings of freeze and frost concerns.

Shelters are opening as temperatures in the area are set to plummet thanks to a winter storm sweeping into Central Florida.

The Sheltering Tree in Flagler County will open Monday, Jan. 26, through Thursday, Jan. 29. The shelter is operating out of the Rock Transformation Center, located at 2200 N. State St. The shelter will open each evening at 5 p.m. and close at 8 a.m. the following day…
