Man, 45, brandishes scissors, rams deputy vehicle in Southern California

A 45-year-old San Bernardino County man is in custody after reportedly threatening a person’s life with a pair of scissors and then leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit, officials announced last week.

The incident occurred on Jan. 19 around 6:30 p.m. in the 15300 block of Carmelita Avenue, a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated.

Investigators say deputies responded to the location after receiving reports that Chino Hills resident Jeremy Herrera was making criminal threats while armed with a pair of scissors and then fleeing the area before law enforcement arrived…
