Tornado watch issued for Houston County and Wiregrass through early evening

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDNews) — The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Houston County and parts of southeast Alabama, effective from 10:50 a.m. Sunday until 6 p.m. CST.

According to the National Weather Service office in Tallahassee, the watch includes five counties in southeast Alabama: Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston.

A tornado watch means weather conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop. Residents are urged to stay alert, monitor trusted weather sources and be prepared to take shelter if warnings are issued…
