AMARILLO, Texas — A winter storm moving across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains from Jan. 23-25 brought widespread snowfall, with several communities reporting near double-digit totals.
The heaviest snow fell across the eastern and southeastern Panhandle, where a narrow band of heavier snowfall set up during the height of the storm Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. Kelton, Texas reported the highest total at 9.8 inches, followed closely by Clarendon with 9.5 inches. Shamrock and Howardwick each recorded 9 inches of snow accumulation.
