Malnourished 12-year-old boy in NE hospitalized

LINCOLN, Neb. — A 12-year-old boy has been placed in the care of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services after court records said he arrived at a Lincoln hospital.

Court records said on Jan. 12, a Lincoln Police officer received a report of a 12-year-old boy who was admitted to Bryan West Medical Center due to severe malnutrition. An affidavit said the boy was too weak to lift himself or to speak and that his core body temperature was 80 degrees.

The officer said the boy only weighed 47 pounds at the hospital…
