LUBBOCK, Texas (KLBK) — Here is your updated forecast from the KLBK First Warning Weather Center:

Update: A Freezing Fog Advisory is in effect through late morning across portions of the South Plains, the far southern Rolling Plains and southeast New Mexico. Lower visibility will occur and an additional glaze of ice will develop on area roadways.

Update: Extreme Cold Warnings remain in effect through mid to late morning on this Monday across the South Plains, Rolling Plains, eastern New Mexico and southeastern New Mexico. Dangerously cold wind chills below 0° and as low as -15° are forecast.

Today :Dangerously cold air temperatures, negative wind chill values and areas of freezing fog will start this Monday off across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains. There will be some improvement in high temperatures today. However, it will remain a cold day with temperatures still below freezing. Sunny to mostly sunny conditions are forecast on this Monday across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains. High temperatures will range from the middle 20s to the very low 30s. Wind chill values will be below 0° this morning. The wind will out of the west-northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
