Willis-Knighton Health System command center activated to maintain care during storm

SHREVEPORT, La. — Willis-Knighton Health System activated its hospital command center Friday evening as a winter storm moved through the region, with staff remaining on site to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

The command center was set up at 7 p.m. Friday to coordinate hospital operations, staffing and safety measures during the storm. Willis Knighton’s Director of Emergency Preparedness Scott Wolverton said the move was part of standard emergency preparedness procedures when severe weather threatens the area. The command center supports redundancy of communication in the event of a major power or communication interruption.

Willis-Knighton hospitals will continue operating 24/7 throughout the storm, providing care for patients currently hospitalized and those seeking treatment for serious emergency conditions. Emergency departments across the system remain open…
