WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says while the winter storm is long gone, the extreme cold continues to keep its grip on Kansas. Morning temperatures as low as ten degrees below zero will eventually climb into the lower 20s this afternoon. However, that keeps us 20 degrees below normal for late January.
Despite a warmer weather pattern moving in tomorrow and Wednesday, temperatures will struggle during the afternoon because of the deep snow-pack. And when you factor in the breeze, highs in the lower 30s will feel several degrees colder.
The Arctic air mass will be moving back into the state on Thursday and Friday. Expect highs in the teens and 20s to be accompanied by morning temperatures in single digits, both above and below zero. However, no snow or wind will accompany the colder temperatures…
