Maryland Among Top 10 U.S. States With the Sharpest Divide Between Rural Roads and City Streets for Hit-and-Run Accidents

A new study reveals that Maryland experienced the fifth-highest difference between rural and urban fatal hit-and-run accidents across the United States.

The research conducted by the Missouri-based personal injury law firm Beck & Beck Missouri Car Accident Lawyersanalyzed NHTSA data on fatal hit-and-run incidents between 2019 and 2023. The percentage difference between rural and urban crashes was calculated to uncover where city streets are significantly more dangerous for drivers and pedestrians than the countryside.
