Fayetteville woman found sleeping in Chancellor Howell’s home, charged with burglary

A homeless woman from Fayetteville was arrested early Sunday morning after police found her inside NC State Chancellor Kevin Howell’s residence.

NC State University Police responded Sunday morning around 8:45 a.m. to a report of an intruder sleeping inside 1570 Main Campus Dr., NC State’s official Chancellor’s Residence, according to Lauren Barker, senior media relations strategist at NC State.

Officials arrested Maya Barbour, 44, who is not affiliated with the university, and charged her with first-degree burglary upon arrival. Howell was present at the time of the incident, but no one was harmed…
