KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville family says a winter blast turned into a terrifying rescue after a large tree crashed into their home and trapped two children inside.
The family said it started with a loud boom when strong winds sent a large tree crashing into their home. The tree fell directly into their children’s bedroom, trapping the two kids inside as insulation and debris filled the room.

“I heard a big crash. My son kept hollering, ‘I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, Mom, I can’t breathe,’” Jamie Griffin said. “He was trapped. He had to bust through the wall. And then I couldn’t find my daughter. I’m running around trying to find my daughter.”
Griffin said her daughter was also trapped inside the home until firefighters were able to rescue her…
