Hazardous road conditions caused by a combination of freezing rain and accumulated snow are severely impacting local emergency response efforts, according to a recent update shared by Garrard County Judge Executive Chris “Roo” Elleman on behalf of local officials. Equipment used for road treatment and clearance is reportedly malfunctioning under the weight of ice and snow, significantly slowing progress.
The update emphasized that while crews are actively working to mitigate the dangerous conditions, the rate of progress is hampered by both the weather and equipment limitations.
