MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – The National Weather Service in Birmingham has confirmed that a tornado touched down in parts of Lowndes and Montgomery counties Sunday as severe weather moved through the state.
According to the NWS report, the tornado is estimated to have been at least an EF-1 that developed in eastern Lowndes County before moving into the western parts of Montgomery County.
Details are limited at this time while storm survey crews continue to examine the damage and gather more information.
