180th Fighter Wing to conduct night flying: Here’s when you might notice the ‘Stingers’ in action

SWANTON, Ohio — The 180th Fighter Wing is scheduled to conduct night flying operations this week, which may be seen or heard in the greater Toledo area.

The 180th’s F-16 fighter jets are scheduled for takeoff and landing until around 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, weather permitting, a spokesperson for the fighter wing said in a press release Monday. Area residents may see or hear the fighter jets and the use of flares during the training flights.

Although training flights normally take place during the day, F-16 pilots and maintenance personnel are required to conduct nighttime operations as part of overall readiness training…
