New Hanover County school board responds to attorney’s ‘inappropriate’ Facebook post

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The New Hanover County Board of Education has released a statement regarding an ‘inappropriate’ comment posted by a New Hanover County Schools attorney.

Brian Kromke, an attorney with Crossley McIntosh Collier Hanley & Edes, P.L.L.C., commented on a statement issued by former Gov. Roy Cooper about the ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

Cooper posted on Facebook, “These horrific shootings in Minnesota should not have happened — American citizens should not be targeted and killed. As someone who has prosecuted violent criminals, I understand the importance of federal resources to fight crime, including resources focused on deporting violent criminals — but these actions don’t make people safe and this chaos needs to stop.”

The language used is offensive to those in the intellectually disabled community…
