Texas homeowner’s attempt to save tree from cold leads to fire

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Emergency crews responded to a potential fire at a residence on 3300 Bali, where a homeowner’s efforts to protect a tree from the cold with a space heater led to a blaze.

The incident resulted in no damage to the home, but the tree did not fare as well, according to a press release from Nueces County ESD 2.
