First Watch turns Orland Park mornings into brunch paradise

Breakfast lovers in Orland Park finally have a new spot to start their day. First Watch, the national daytime dining chain, officially opened its doors Monday, Jan. 26, in the former Original Pancake House on La Grange Road.

The restaurant hosted a soft opening over the weekend for family and friends before welcoming the public. Todd Rose, general manager of the Orland Park location, said in a statement that while the French toast is a crowd favorite, his personal pick is the chimichanga. “You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu,” he added.

First Watch has earned attention not just for its food, but also for the way it treats its employees. The chain was named the No. 1 Most Loved Workplace® in America in 2024 and 2025 by Newsweek and the Best Practice Institute, thanks to its “You First” philosophy and one-shift, “No Nights Ever” schedule.

The restaurant is also nationally recognized for its breakfast and brunch offerings. Last year, First Watch topped Newsweek’s Reader’s Choice Awards for Best Breakfast, beating out competitors based on votes from readers across the country.
