(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A family of four is displaced after a house fire in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood of Colorado Springs on Monday, Jan. 26.
Fire crews were called to the home in the 1000 block of Western Drive, which is just north of the Highway 24 and 94 intersection, around 11:30 a.m. on Monday for reports of flames and smoke coming from the area.
Crews arrived on scene within minutes and began working to contain the fire.
The fire, which crews said appeared to have started under the trailer, quickly spread to the inside of the home and to a rooftop cooling unit, according to the Cimarron Hills Fire Department (CHFD). CHFD, along with crews from the Falcon and Ellicott fire departments, responded to assist, and the fire was reported to be out by noon on Monday.
The house sustained heavy fire damage, and according to CHFD, everyone inside the home evacuated safely. “Crews rescued one dog from inside the structure, and a second was located under a neighbor’s trailer,” wrote CHFD. “Both were reunited with their owner.”…
