One hospitalized after a semi-truck crashed into a concrete barrier in Parley’s Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — One person was hospitalized after semi-truck crashed into a concrete barrier on westbound I-80 in Parley’s Canyon, causing residual delays.

The Utah Department of Transportation posted on X saying, “This crash is WB and involves a semi-truck at East Canyon/MP 133. Plan for heavy delays between Park City and SLC.”

According to Sgt. Luis Silva, UHP, a semi-truck suffered a mechanical failure and struck the right concrete barrier.

The driver of the truck was not injured, but a passenger reportedly suffered minor injuries. The passenger was then transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The right two lanes on westbound I80 were closed for investigation and clean up, causing heavy delays between Park City and Salt Lake City. The lanes have since reopened, but UDOT has said to expect residual delays…
