Frigid temperatures this morning as snow moves out of New Mexico

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Many of us in Albuquerque are waking up to a rather unfamiliar sight. Light snow showers moved in late last night and through this morning, blanketing parts of the city and the metro area. Snowplows have been out early this morning, but with temperatures below freezing, icy spots may have formed. Snowfall, besides flurries, has moved out of Albuquerque, but snow is still falling in southeastern New Mexico. Moderate to possibly heavy snowfall is moving toward the Texas-New Mexico state line through Chaves, Lea, and Roosevelt counties. Moderate to heavy snowfall is also moving through the Sacramento Mountains this morning. Travel impacts are likely in this part of the state with snowy and icy roadways through this morning.
