Blessing in Disguise is no longer disguised.
After the new Spokane summer music festival was announced in December, the lineup for its first edition — set to take place across four stages in and around ONE Spokane Stadium and The Podium on Saturday, July 11 — has finally been revealed.
Blessing in Disguise’s inaugural year is headlined by Washington’s own pop rap superstar Macklemore, returning to the city where he famously shot the music video for his single “Downtown.” Joining the Seattle MC near the top of the bill is AJR, an indie pop brother trio boasting eight platinum singles including “Bang!” and “Weak,” and alternative rock standouts AWOLNATION who should have the crowd cruising with the mega-memed hit “Sail.” Canadian indie rock band Mother Mother rounds out the mainstage lineup at ONE Spokane Stadium.
There’s also local flavor to Blessing in Disguise, headlined by R&B/soul vocal powerhouse Allen Stone. Serving as a festival ambassador, Stone (who rarely performs locally apart from his Stone Family Field Trip festival in Liberty Lake) will essentially be curating a stage featuring his friends. Other Spokanites on the bill include Frances Browne and Nothing Shameful…
