Icy roads in the Triad could cause dangerous travel conditions | Live updates

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The weekend winter storm has made its way through the Triad – leaving lasting snow and ice in its wake. Cities have begun the work of plowing out main roads for essential travel, but North Carolinians are still being advised to stay off the roads unless necessary.

On Sunday, the NCDOT reported nearly 400 crashes during the storm. No fatalities have been reported.

The City of Greensboro says its crews have cleared 96% of its priority roads through plowing, salting and grading. Though Monday’s sun helped melt some of the ice on roads. drivers are asked to use caution until all roads have been fully cleared…
