CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Cumberland County police officer was awarded for the bravery he displayed during a dangerous incident last year.
The Unit Citation award was given to Sgt. Thomas Wambold by the Lower Allen Township Police Department on Monday for his bravery and what he did to bring in a suspect into custody during a Nov. 6 incident.
An armed suspect wanted for a carjacking and assault led a vehicle pursuit that turned into a foot chase when they abandoned the vehicle, according to police. However, the suspect was not able to evade police, and they were arrested.
