A group of anglers on a 48-hour beach fishing trip in Pensacola Beach, Florida just caught and released a massive great white shark. The shark was estimated to weigh around 1,000 pounds and measure 12-13 feet long.
These beach fishermen planned their trip wisely and booked the 48-hour guided fishing trip with Coastal Worldwide as this became the fourth year in a row they have caught a great white shark in this part of Florida!

Great white sharks are no stranger to the Florida peninsula during the Winter months. Cape Cod is considered Ground Zero for Atlantic great white activity during the Summer with an abundance of seals in the water as prey but when the temperatures in the Northern Atlantic plummet in the colder months the sharks typically migrate south.
Even still, they are not that common here in Florida. Anecdotally speaking of course, I am a born and raised, multi-generational, native Floridian. Nobody in my immediate family has ever seen a white shark up close here in Florida and we all grew up on the water.
