SR 417 Reopens After Electric Vehicle Fires Cause Southbound Delays Near Lake Mary

Travelers on S.R. 417 experienced significant delays due to a car fire that temporarily shuttered the southbound lane near Lake Mary Boulevard. The incident, which occurred and caused disruptions in the traffic flow, has since been resolved with the lane reopening. According to information obtained by WFTV, the Seminole County Fire Department, along with the Sheriff’s Office, was quick to respond to the emergency.

The vehicle, speculated to have been a hybrid by responders, endured a blaze that complicated the firefighting efforts.
