A woman is suing a Murrells Inlet restaurant, claiming that the seafood dish she ordered resulted in a shell becoming lodged in her throat.
Deborah Hauck said she had ordered mussels in white wine tomato cream sauce at Wahoos Fish House, 3993 U.S. 17 Business, on Oct. 11, 2024. But shortly after beginning to eat her meal, she felt a sharp piercing pain in her throat, the suit filed Monday said.
After leaving the restaurant, Hauck immediately went to Conway Medical Center to seek treatment, the suit said. Tests showed that Hauck had a shell “dangerously” lodged in her esophagus, requiring her to undergo surgery to remove it, the suit said…
