COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Collierville Police Department has warned residents of the dangers of frozen lakes and ponds after receiving multiple calls of children playing on the icy surfaces Monday.
In a post to their Facebook page, the police department said they received several calls about children playing on the frozen waters, including in Johnson Park and multiple apartment complexes.
“Ice conditions are extremely dangerous and unpredictable,” Collierville Police said. “Even if the ice appears solid, it can break without warning and create a life-threatening situation.”…
