Some Baton Rouge area schools, including East Baton Rouge Parish public schools, have announced plans to reopen Tuesday after being closed due to freezing weather.

While temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing for much of Tuesday, the worst weather concerns — widespread power outages and road closing — failed to materialize Monday. That has given school leaders the confidence to continue reopening Tuesday as they’d planned.
