The History Museum at the Castle isn’t the only building in Appleton’s history to give off medieval vibes. Built as a church, an imposing building in downtown Appleton served as a meeting hall and later, retail space. Just called “The Castle,” it stood at 205 E. Lawrence St.
It was razed in 1990, after more than 100 years. We took a look back through the archives to see the evolution of this local landmark.
