Scout Troop 85 and Troop 108 have four Michel family members who are Eagle Scouts. The youngest, Kamdan, was awarded his honor on December 2, 2025. They are the children of Joey and Stacy Michel of Florence.
“Being an Eagle Scout is just part of our family life,” said Stacy Michel, who served as a scoutmaster during her kids’ school years. “The communication skills they were taught are priceless, especially for our son with dyslexia. The confidence and leadership from scouts has positively impacted each of my sons’ lives.”
All are graduates of Florence High School (FHS). The oldest at 25, Kevin, who received scholarships at Hinds Community College and the University of Mississippi, now works at the University of South Carolina Student Success Center.
