Inmates from the Madison County Community Work Center collected between 40 and 50 bags of trash in two hours during a Martin Luther King Day cleanup detail in Jackson.
The inmates at the Madison County Community Work Center (CWC) participated in the Martin Luther King Day Cleanup at the request of state Rep. Zakiya Summers, who represents District 68 in Hinds and Rankin counties, Mississippi Department of Corrections Officials said. Ten inmates worked the detail starting on South Gallatin Street to I-20 for two hours.
The Madison County Community Work Center is located at 140 Corrections Drive in Canton. State inmates from all over the state can be housed at the Madison location, MDOC officials said. There are seven similar facilities in the state…
