RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Right now, dozens of filmmakers are hard at work crafting short films for the Love Notes 2026, the annual Short Romance Film Competition presented by Silver State Storytellers.
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21, participating teams received a set of surprise creative prompts — including a prop, a line of dialogue, and a sound effect — and were then challenged to write, shoot and edit a complete romance film in just two weeks.
Event organizer Lyric Burt stopped by Morning Break to share how film friends and family members of the filmmakers, film enthusiasts, local supporters of the arts, and anyone else are all invited to the screening of the shot films that make it to the end of the competition…
