Firefighter accused of setting building fire in Charlotte area arrested

MATTHEWS, N.C. (WBTV) – A firefighter was arrested this past week after he allegedly set a fire inside a Charlotte-area building.

The firefighter — 54-year-old Peter William Blaich — was arrested on Friday, Jan. 23, and was a battalion chief with the Matthews Fire Department.
